World Action Fund’s efforts in providing prostheses, mobility devices, and home-based therapies have been transformative for thousands across Uganda. Through their fitment camps nationwide, individuals who have lost limbs receive customized prosthetic devices, enabling them to regain mobility and independence. Wheelchairs and trikes are distributed following thorough assessments, ensuring that each individual receives the most suitable device for their needs.
The home-based therapy services, including physiotherapy, occupational, and speech therapy, support not only physical recovery but also help individuals adapt to their environments and enhance their quality of life. This holistic approach has led to the recovery of over 200 individuals, with a wider positive impact on 2,400 people with disabilities who benefit from these programs. By addressing mobility, therapeutic, and rehabilitation needs, World Action Fund is fostering resilience and enhancing self-sufficiency for many in Uganda’s disabled community
